Sangria is my favorite wine-based drink, but making traditional sangria can take a long time. That’s why I developed this quick and refreshing five minute sangria recipe. It’s simple, delicious, and perfect for relaxing by the pool or kicking off a summer gathering.five minute sangria

This is one of the best five minute sangrias you’ll try. It’s bright, fruity, and relies on fresh ingredients plus a good, affordable red wine—I used a Malbec for its ripe berry character, which pairs nicely with citrus and pineapple. The method is flexible, so feel free to adapt the fruit to your taste.five minute sangria frontera wine

What You Need To Make Five Minute Sangria:

  • One bottle of red wine, such as Malbec
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Oranges
  • Limes
  • Lemons
  • Cherries
  • One can of cubed pineapple (juice included)

The fruit quantities are flexible—adjust to your preference. For this batch I used two oranges, two limes, two lemons, a handful of cherries, and a full can of cubed pineapple. Fresh fruit and a flavorful, inexpensive wine make a big difference in the final result.five minute sangria ingredients

How To Make Five Minute Sangria:

  1. Start by juicing one lemon, one lime, and one orange directly into a large pitcher. Using the juice gives immediate fruit flavor without waiting for the fruit to macerate overnight.sangria juice
  2. Pit and halve the cherries. If you don’t have a cherry pitter, you can push the pit out with a straw or similar tool, then slice or quarter the cherries as desired.cherry pitting trick
  3. Slice the remaining orange, lemon and lime into rounds or wedges. Add those slices to the pitcher along with the can of cubed pineapple, including the juice for extra sweetness and flavor.sangria adding fruit
  4. To gently aerate the wine and round out the flavors quickly, pour the bottle into a blender and pulse briefly—about five to ten seconds. This softens the wine and helps it integrate with the fruit without long resting time.how to aerate wine in a blender
  5. Fill the pitcher about three quarters full with the blended wine and fruit mixture, then top up with lemon-lime soda to taste. The soda adds effervescence and lightens the drink—adjust the amount for sweetness and fizziness. Stir gently to combine, then serve over ice. Enjoy a bright, fruity sangria ready in minutes.sangria

This speedy method delivers a flavorful sangria when you don’t have time to wait for fruit to infuse overnight. Use fresh citrus and a wine you enjoy, and tweak the fruit and soda levels until you find the perfect balance for your taste. Cheers and enjoy your gathering!
