DIY shimmer lip gloss made with just two ingredients! Kids can make this easy, sparkly gloss using unpetroleum jelly and shimmer dust — perfect for spa parties and party favors.

Summer is here and it’s the perfect time for simple, creative projects the kids can enjoy. If your child has been asking for a spa party like mine did, this two-ingredient shimmer lip gloss is an ideal craft. It’s quick, safe for supervised kids, and makes a great party activity or take-home favor. With only unpetroleum jelly and shimmer dust you can make multiple colors and finishes without any complicated steps.

How to make lip gloss with only two ingredients
Supplies:
- Un-petroleum jelly
- Shimmer dust
- Small bowl
- Spoon or popsicle sticks for mixing
- Lip gloss containers (small jars or tubes)
Step one: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of un-petroleum jelly into a small bowl. Adjust the amount to match the size and number of containers you plan to fill; add another teaspoon or two if needed.
Step two: Add a small amount of shimmer dust and stir until fully combined. Exact measurements aren’t necessary — mix until the jelly takes on the desired shimmer and color intensity.
Step three: Transfer the finished gloss into small containers. Tiny jars, lip gloss tubes, or containers from the craft aisle work well for gifting or party favors.
Note: shimmer dust adds sparkle and shine but won’t produce strong color like lipstick. The result is a glossy, shimmery finish that enhances lips without changing their natural color — perfect for kids who want sparkle without bold pigment.
