I’m preparing to head home after a wonderful vacation. This photo captures the view at Freycinet National Park, looking out over the Friendly Beaches. The coastline here is peaceful and expansive, with soft sand and clear waters stretching into the distance.
The days have been full of hiking, wildlife spotting, and quiet moments by the sea. Freycinet’s granite peaks and sheltered bays provide endless opportunities for exploration — from short walks along the shore to longer trails that reveal panoramic views. Friendly Beaches offers a gentle, accessible shoreline that’s perfect for walking, relaxing, and taking in the coastal scenery.
Wildlife was a highlight of the trip. I saw several seabirds along the water and signs of native animals in the nearby bushland. The region’s natural setting feels well preserved, making it easy to experience Tasmania’s unique flora and fauna without crowds.
Food and local hospitality added to the enjoyment. Small cafes and local producers provided fresh, satisfying meals after active days outdoors. Evenings were best spent watching the light change across the bay as the sun dipped toward the horizon.
I’ll be heading home soon but look forward to sharing more stories and photos from this trip. For now, the memory of waves, wind and the rugged beauty of Freycinet National Park will stay with me for a long time.
