These spooky pudding cups are a classic Halloween treat. They have a special place in my heart—my mom and I made them every year, and now I make them with my son to keep the tradition alive. In this post I’ll show five easy designs: Jack O’Lantern, Frankenstein, One-Eyed Monster, Dracula and Ghost. They’re just as simple as other quick Halloween treats like candy eyeballs or chocolate spiders.

These cups are a great opportunity to get creative—kids can help design their own characters and decorations.

How to make homemade pudding cups
- Prepare homemade pudding or use store-bought Snack Pack cups.
- If making pudding at home, tint portions with gel food coloring for bright, consistent colors.
- Draw faces and designs on the outside of small plastic cups with a black Sharpie.
- Finish with decorations like pretzels, candies and cookies just before serving.

Variations and tips for Halloween pudding cups
Use store-bought pudding – It saves time and some flavors already have appealing colors and patterns.
Only use gel coloring – Gel colors add vibrant hues without thinning the pudding. This is important for homemade puddings.
Add final touches just before serving – Garnishes like pretzels and leaves can get soggy if added too early.
Use small disposable cups – They make cleanup easier, especially when serving kids.
Decorate the outside of cups only – Sharpie marker ink is not edible, so draw faces on the cup exterior.
Try alternative fillings – Switch vanilla pudding for chia pudding, rice pudding, banana pudding or colorful jelly for different textures and flavors.

For the photos I used caramel-flavored Snack Pack cups because I liked the light and dark brown layers. You can pick any flavor you prefer. I decorated these with buttercream, Oreo Draculas, gummy worms and bone-shaped candies—use whatever treats your kids enjoy.

Dracula Snack Pack pudding cups
- Separate a regular Oreo and break the non-creamy side in half to form Dracula’s wings.
- Brush corn syrup near the ends of these wings to act as “glue.”
- Press a whole Oreo on top of the wings for the face.
- Separate a mini Oreo and break its non-creamy side in half to make ears.
- Attach the ears behind the face with corn syrup or melted chocolate.
- Stick two candy eyeballs onto the face using a dab of corn syrup.
- Cut a thin strip of Twizzler for the mouth and adhere it just below the eyes.
- Cut small triangles of white chocolate for fangs and attach them under the Twizzler mouth.
- Add a small bow candy to the head for a finishing touch.
- Frost the top of a Snack Pack with buttercream, sprinkle crushed Oreos, add bone candies or gummy worms, then place the Oreo Dracula on top.

Snack Pack puddings are a convenient choice and also provide calcium comparable to an 8 oz glass of milk.

Storage
Refrigerate – Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2–3 days.
Freeze – Not recommended. Pudding can separate and become grainy when thawed.
